Uncategorized Comments OffThe policy (CX) debate topic possibilities for 2008-09 have been reduced to two: HEALTH CARE - Resolved: The United States federal government should establish a universal health care system in the United States. ALTERNATIVE ENERGY - Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase alternative energy incentives in the United States. I know some folks in the Public Forum Debate community have been anticipating a universal health care topic this season. Can you hear my sigh of relief? Of course, there will be some logistical issues, because there’s memorial ceremonies on Saturday, but there’s nothing we can’t work our way around. 10.31.07Final Policy Debate Topic Selection for 2008-2009
Uncategorized Comments OffThe National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) conducted its initial balloting of five proposed topic areas for next year’s Policy Debate topic. Based on the preliminary results, the topic which receives a majority vote in the final balloting of the 53 constituencies (50 states, the NFL, NCFL and NDCA) will become next year’s topic, announced in early January. Uncategorized Comments OffRIPON, Wis. — The final two choices for the 2008-2009 policy debate topic have been announced. One is health care; “Resolved: The United States federal government should establish a universal health care system in the United States.” The other is alternative energy; “Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase alternative energy incentives in the United States.” National Forensic League chapters may vote with the NFL policy debate topic ballot, now available online.
