04.30.09History Made in Kentucky: Chris Theis Wins 2nd TOC
Victory Briefs Daily (0)LEXINGTON, Ky. — The final round of the 2009 National Tournament of Champions featured defending champion Chris Theis of Apple Valley High School and challenger Daniel Moerner of Los Altos High School. On a 6-1 decision, Chris defeated Daniel to defend his title. Chris is the first-ever repeat TOC champion in Lincoln-Douglas debate. Congratulations to both for reaching finals in a year that featured what may well be the strongest senior class in history. Victory Briefs Daily (0)RIPON, Wis. — The National Forensic League has released the resolutions for the NFL National tournament, which will be held in mid-June in Birmingham, Alabama. Victory Briefs Daily (0)LEXINGTON, Ky. — The 1989 Tournament of Champions concluded with a final round that pit Regis High School’s David Kennedy against Homewood High School’s Amy Forsee. Victory Briefs Daily (0)PALO ALTO, Calif. — On May 9, Palo Alto High School will host a novice Lincoln-Douglas debate round robin to benefit the Bay Area Urban Debate League. 100% of the proceeds go to the BAUDL. All judges have donated their time. BAUDL’s executive director is Blake Johnson, a former Oklahoma state Lincoln-Douglas debate champion and a past college policy debate star.
